Illinois BASSET Program

The BASSET Program is state mandated training for all sellers and/or servers of poured or packaged alcohol.  This training is designed to inform sellers and servers of the following:

• How to properly check ID’s, and, which forms of identification are acceptable and which are not.  It also teaches them how to spot a fake ID and what to do about it.
• Recognizing various levels of intoxication based upon observation.  It gives guidance on responding to intoxicated customers and how best to attempt to handle them with minimal adversity.
• What sellers and servers need to know about Dram Shop Insurance and how it affects them.  This includes what their own responsibilities and liabilities are as a seller and a server.
